Our People



After graduating from Boston College in with an Economics degree Dave was commissioned as an officer in the United States Army where he served as an Infantry and Special Forces Officer.

Since receiving his law degree from Wake Forest University Law School Dave has practiced primarily in Charlotte, focusing on commercial litigation. He has vast experience in all facets of complex commercial disputes in state and federal courts, as well as arbitration. He has tried dozens of jury trials and taken several cases to state and federal appellate courts on complex issues involving indemnification, liability limitation and the uniform commercial code.

Dave is a founding member of Redding Jones Law, co-founder of F3 and a frequent speaker across the southeast about law and leadership.




Joe is a trial lawyer that is licensed in North and South Carolina.  Joe has experience litigating a wide range of cases, including business and construction matters, professional malpractice,

employment disputes, trust and estates, real estate disputes, and personal injury cases.

In his practice, Joe represents both individuals and businesses, and has experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants in trial and on appeal.

Joe received his law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2011. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of North Carolina, Asheville.  Joe joined Redding Jones in January of 2012.



Kent Davis Jones practices in the areas of commercial real estate development, finance, commercial leasing, loan workouts and general corporate law.

In his practice, Mr. Jones has represented numerous clients, including developers, public/private partnerships, investors, and lenders.  Mr. Jones’s responsibilities have included managing and closing commercial real estate transactions, including land use, financing and development matters and drafting and negotiating purchase contracts, commercial leases, loan documentation, development agreements and related agreements.

Mr. Jones’s general business practice includes advising businesses and business owners in entity choice and formation issues, equity structures, and the negotiation and preparation of shareholder agreements, operating agreements, service contracts, manufacturing and consulting agreements, and franchise and licensing agreements.

Mr. Jones received his Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from the University of the South, in Sewanee, Tennessee in 1991.  He attended the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama, where he received his Juris Doctor, Magna Cum Laude, in 1995.  He was the Casenote Editor of the Cumberland Law Review.

Mr. Jones is a native of Charlotte, North Carolina, where he lives with his wife, Jennifer and their two daughters, Lindsay and Emily.



Tyler Rhoades is a civil litigation attorney who focuses his practice in the areas of commercial litigation, contract law, personal injury claims and traffic violations.

Tyler Rhoades was born and raised in Winston Salem, NC. In 2006, Tyler left Winston Salem to attend college where he later graduated with a B.A. in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2011. Upon graduating, Tyler worked as a paralegal at personal injury law firm in Charlotte, NC until 2014 when Tyler began law school at Charlotte School of Law. Throughout law school, Tyler worked as a law clerk at Redding Jones, PLLC and upon graduating and passing the North Carolina Bar, joined the firm as an attorney in October 2017.

When not working, Tyler enjoys spending time with family and friends, outdoor activities, fishing, traveling, and cooking.



Ty Kimmell McTier joined the firm in October 2015. Ty practices in the areas of business litigation, real estate litigation, estate planning, and judgment collection.

In his practice, Ty has represented clients in front of the District and Superior Court of Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. Ty has also practiced in front of the North Carolina Office of Administrative Hearings.

Ty received his Bachelors in Psychology from Covenant College in May 2011. In addition to his studies he also played college baseball while attending Covenant College. Ty received his law degree from Charlotte School of Law in May 2015 as a member of the Moot Court Honor Board and Order of the Crown honor society.



Josh graduated law school in 2011 from the West Virginia University College of Law and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from West Virginia University,

graduating with honors.
After graduating from law school, Josh worked as a financial advisor at Wells Fargo Advisors before beginning the practice of law in his hometown of Morgantown, WV in 2013, practicing in a variety of fields, including extensive work in the oil and gas industry.
Josh joined Redding Jones in 2017 and assists the firm in its commercial real estate transactions department.

Marisol Rivera joined Redding Jones in 2015. Marisol is a bi-lingual paralegal with over 15 years of experience.
